Meet Ms. Narine Mkrtchyan
Ms. Mkrtchyan started her legal career as a deputy public defender, having received extensive trial training from some of the best trial lawyers in California. Very early she earned the reputation of a talented trial lawyer, having gotten acquittals and dismissals in hundreds of criminal cases, involving charges of DUI, domestic violence, drugs, sex cases, fraud, theft. She participated in numerous trial programs at the California Public Defender’s Association and tried more cases in just a couple of years than most attorneys in their entire career. In 2008 she was included and interviewed in a TV program ‘Inside Kern’ designed to educate the public about the job of public defenders in Kern County and their important role in the criminal justice system.
In private practice serving Los Angeles for years she has consistently obtained exceptionally good results for her clients in serious felony and misdemeanor cases. She is skilled in both civil and criminal litigation, state and federal courts. As a relentless litigator, she has successfully litigated a host of pre-trial motions and has settled many cases favorably before trial. She is a fearless and devoted advocate at trial and pursues the best possible strategy, through creative analysis, investigation and preparation of the case. She hires the best investigators and experts to assist her at trial.
She has been a member of the Indigent Criminal Defense Appointments Program of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, aggressively representing hundreds of indigent criminal defendants. She has also been involved in criminal appellate work, at the California Appellate Project, and as part of the training program by the Federal Public Defender’s Office in Los Angeles for CJA (Criminal Justice Act) appeals to the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She has argued before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and has developed extensive skills for federal criminal trials and appeals up to the petition for a writ of certiorari to the United States Supreme Court.

She has been a member and actively participates in legal events and seminars by the Los Angeles County Bar Association, Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles, San Fernando Valley Bar Association, Criminal Courts Bar Association, Armenian Bar Association, Armenian American Chamber of Commerce, Beverly Hills Bar Association.
In 2016, Ms. Mkrtchyan was the recipient of the Women in Excellence Award by the Armenian American Chamber of Commerce. In 2007 she enjoyed teaching briefly at the Abraham Lincoln University School of Law, and at the Summer Trial Advocacy Program at the San Diego State University. In 2009 she was invited to the court hearing of the international case of Georgia v. Russia at the European Court of Human Rights. Ms. Mkrtchyan is fluent in Russian and Armenian.
